Organizer of the annual sustainable environment inspired concert the Green Concert, Dereck Mpofu has called for artists to participate in this year’s concert and festival which will be held from the 4th to the 6th of November in Harare, Mutare and Bulawayo respectively.
Dereck who is affectionately known as the Green Ambassador announced the inaugural Green Concert and Festival to be run under the theme ‘Our Cities and Climate Change’, inviting green activists, embassies and artists to register for participation.
“It’s our pleasure to invite artists, craftsman, green advocates, embassies, corporates and individuals to take part in this initiative,” said Dereck.
Dereck said interested candidates are to make inquiries to him through the details he shared on social media and they are to send their profiles in brief to make their registration worth.
The anticipated artists are those who are in afro jazz, contemporary music, traditional and Zimdancehall genres as well as craftsman who specialize in creating products from environmentally friendly raw materials or recycled materials.
“We also appeal to community based environmental organizations to take part in this event, since such groups play a pivotal role through being advocates of the green environment and educating societies on sustainable environments,” he said.
The Zero Littering goodwill ambassador is partnering with City of Harare who are now permanent residence with the show, Climate Change Coalition and Green Ambassador Foundation.
