Rising dance hall chanter Tafadzwa Freeman Sibanda, popularly known as Tuffbwoy by his fans ,yesterday accused Killer T of stealing his song and performing it in many of his shows.
Speaking to Celebrity check ,Tuffbwoy highlighted that he has no beef with the Chikorobho hit maker but he just feels cheated by someone he looks up to in the musical circles.
“My track Domestic Hurumende, was one of the best and Killer T misled mbare to think that the track was his by re recording it and performing it in many of his shows in and around mbare hence gaining popularity through my song. I don’t hate him but i believe what he did was very unfair to such an upcoming artiste like me” fumed Tuffbwoy
It is alleged that, Killer T first heard the song Domestic Hurumende in Chitungwiza, when he came over at Critical beats records last year in a bid to sing on a riddim titled the Dem Sell Out Riddim. However, it is said that he did not get to sing on the riddim but instead went at sunshine studios in Mbare and re-recorded Tuffbwoy’s song which he later performed in many of his shows.
“I have no beef towards Killer T .I just have a negative attitude towards him “, Tuffbwoy said.
Tuffbwoy who is also a banker by profession holding a honors in finance emphasized that such behavior from artistes with whom people look up to as a role model will not only spark controversy and beefing but it will also kill the struggling Zimbabwe music industry.
Killer T’s arrival on the music scene saw him attain iconic status almost overnight. His signature mark “popopopopo” and lyrical prowess endeared him to multitudes of the reggae dance hall movement fans in Zimbabwe and abroad.
His latest album which include the hit song Chikorobho has proved that he is indeed the lyrical prince as his songs not only entertain but also spreads a message of peace ,unity and love.
However with such accusations streaming around his fame, many are left to wonder whether he is truly a musician that is that is gaining respect through other upcoming artistes sweat.
Efforts to get through to Killer T were fruitless as his mobile phone went unreachable at the time to go to print.
