Shedia hit-maker and legendary bassist, Alick Macheso has proven his seniority in the sungura sector after he appeared just in time to save the genre from charging Zimdancehall stars. This is after his long waited album ‘Tsoka Dzerwendo’ hit the market and sold out like hot cake.
Macheso’s CDs were released for sell during the weekend after the Star FM launch, a survey was conducted and results were overwhelming as the album was well recieved on the market.
Tich Makahamadze, spokesperson to the maestro confirmed the sale though he has is not sure of the actual number of CDs they have released to the market.
“I haven’t got the figures of how many coipes we sold, but I would like to confirm that Zimbabweans have shown their loyalty to the musician by buying original copies in their bulk,” said Makahamadze.
To boost their sales the musician’s camp came up with marketing strategic plans that included roping in Red Cross Society in which Macheso is ambassador to sell 40 000 copies through volunteers.
They will also be available online through Jive Zimbabwe and they are opened mainly to those who are in the diaspora.
Macheso’s fans are poring in praises to the new album, hailing him for tracking his winning formular .
The album carries 6 tracks which like most of his albums explore social issues and it is with no doudt people got to love him more for touching lives.
