Miss Africa Zimbabwe beauty peagent is set to illuminate the streets of Bulawayo with an outdoor event that will see models parading along 10th Street on April 29.
This finale is part of the preparations being made for the Miss Africa pageant where the crowned Queen among the 16 contestants will be send off to reperesent Zimbabwe in the finals.
Organizers have moved the dates to April such that they would take advantage of ZITF in which they would entertain the crowd with a modelling competition to run down the Trade Fair fun.
“We have decided to host the pageant this month so as to take advantage of the last night of the Trade Fair,” said Mpofu-Sibanda.
In the mean-time they are planning on a secret place where they will get the ladies on five day boot camp as of April 25.
Mpofu said they are confident of the event’s success as they have so far done what needs to be done in preparations.
“We are more than ready to run the show, people should dress up for the night where we are going to celebrate the African women and her beauty in an African way,” she said.
The streets will be cordoned off to make space for the audience to sit and watch the show under the twinkling night.
Bulawayo artists will have an opportunity to perform on the night, stage is being set for them where no one will take them as strangers in showbizz. Among them are hip hop star boy Cal_vin who has represented the town fairly well elsewhere, Sandra Ndebele, Khuliyo and Afor Soul’s Dhlana.
Though the event seem to incorporate Bulawayo residents, models were selected from all over Zimbabwe and among them are Miss Zimbabwe and Carnival Queen Zimbabwe Maita Kainga (Harare) and Marizane Murashiki (Masvingo) respectively.
