South Africa based Zimbabwean DJ, Oskido is making efforts to end Casper Nyovest and AKA’s fued by inviting them to herald this year’s edition of the Kalawa Jazmee Homecoming party which will be held at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo on 27 December.
Oskido who brain-stormed the end of year event which came to life three years ago, believes that there is more to the two artists union than being at loggerheads all the time and he pleads with them to stop their war.
“@caspernyovest, @akaworldwide, it must be peace without victory: only a peace between equals can last and can mean a lot to the genre” exclaimed Oskido.
His efforts have brought changes to the usual, strictly Kalawa kwaito and house music event as he is being forced to chip in SA hip hop to the menu.
The event manager Scotch Mathenga confirmed the changes and said fans should come prepared for a hyper night which will see SA hip hop giants and arch rivals sharing stage if all goes arcording to plan.
“This year we are moving a little bit further from our tradition and fans should bear with us that this year’s party will be the best as we are introducing the fast rising genre to them. With the presence of Nyovest and AKA things are going to be spruced up as they are the best” said Mathenga.
Joining the duo on stage will be regulars Mafikizolo, Stiff, DJs Tira, Fresh and Pepsi as well as Shumaya hit maker Durban Nyts who will be perfoming in Zimbabwe for the first time.
“Our promoter in Zimbabwe, Vusumuzi is still to give us a list of artists from there who will be performing on the night though our take will be limited as we are targeting only three artists.” he added.
Tickets to the show are not yet confirmed as there is still a lot of traveling documents to be cleared by the immigration department as well as the National Arts Council of Zimbawe.
Though there has been an outcry by promoters in Harare for the homecoming party to as well take part in Harare, Scocth made it clear that they would love to but it is deadly expensive for them to do as their fans wish.
“It’s very costly for us to take the party to other cities, but do not heartbroken we are still working a plan and we will be soon coming to you.” he said.
Now in its fourth year the party will kick off in South Africa on Christmas followed by Botswana on boxing day lastly Zimbabwe on the 27th of December.
Last year the party saw 7000 revellers from all over the country attending and partying to the music of Berita, Bricks, Uhuru, Jah Seed, Zola among others.
